This Saturday!
I've had the pleasure of going to Water Fire in Rhode Island. This event has something for everyone. Whether your hoping to make new friends or looking for a romantic evening with your spouse you'll enjoy Water Fire. You'll walk along the river that is dimly lit with two rows of bone fires. Listen as you enjoy the music playing and taste local food from the vendors (bring cash). I personally enjoyed a Dell's lemonade which is native to Rhode Island. Providence, Rhode Island is a beautiful city. With a towering State Capitol building that will catch any passerby eye.
I've only lived in Boston two months. One of the first activities I attended was Water Fire. This event introduced me to several of my friends which made my first month here less lonely.......Get the studying done early so you can join us this Saturday. Check out the website for more information. http://www.studentfriend.org/Boston/index.cfm?page=56&IDEvent=3138

LABOR DAY!

Labor Day weekend is spent different for all families. Since it is the end of summer most people try to enjoy the outdoors.
It's common to spend this three day weekend with family & friends. In fact I'll be spending Labor Day with my parents!
Good weather is key because this can involve our favorite outdoor activities. Barbecuing is a classic, this can be done in our backyards, at a park, even the beach if it's near enough to our homes. Camping is also popular Labor Day weekend. (If your interested in going camping or just getting out of the city this October we're doing just that http://www.studentfriend.org/Boston/index.cfm?page=56&IDEvent=2744)
*I personally love sitting by the fire and making Smores. If you haven't had a Smore you are missing out! It's a marshmallow toasted over a fire until the middle has melted the outside should be a toasty brown shell, then pressed in between graham crackers with Hersey chocolate a delicious dessert. Thanks to some friends at my last camping experience, I enjoyed this Smore instead of the traditional graham cracker with RICE CRISPY treats!
However you choose to spend this Labor Day weekend whether it's your first or you've been in the States for many. REST and OUTDOORS is going to make this weekend worth while. If your interested in having a SMORE be sure to let me know. Perhaps we can make arrangements to do just that.
